Flooding in Brunei

As you people know, Brunei has constant raining occurring which causes a major flooding which then, also flood the power station, resulting a major blackout on some areas (Including mine). My area, for most houses, suffered 3 days with no electricity. The houses near Hua Ho Delima has full electricity. Unlike what I heard from the radio, DJ Airil had a blackout for 9 days! Pheww! So, anyways, Sister Feena received this e-mail and I told her to forward it to me, so, I can post it here. Some of you may have received this e-mail. I'm just posting SOME pictures, not all.

This is what causes the black out. The power station workers probably had to shut off the flooded stations. Why? Well, you don't expect they have to leave it open, do you? If they did, a lot of people who are around the flooded area will easily get electrocuted!

The mall also suffered a blackout. Pity to the shoppers especially the Chinese. I mean, Chinese New Year is coming. Luckily, this didn't happened during Hari Raya season. Sister Feena said that she went to Gadong and the area was soo dark! She called it "Ghost city". Oooo~ Btw, she went there in order to search for candles. We were out of them and the nearby shops, including Hua Ho Delima are all out of stock! She said that she went to total of 8 shops. I don't know where she bought the candles. Dad searched too and bought from Katok. Wahhh, soo far awayyy. Let me tell you this, he bought two plastic full of candlelight boxes which each contain for about 8.

The river besides the Mall

Whoaaa... Surely, you people know this area. This area is near the Rizqun hotel. The one which has a bridge. The river level is ALWAYS either low or dried up but now, it's overflowing.

Gosh, the flood actually filled HALF of the tunnel?! No wonder it was announced closed.

Around Borneo clinic

Poor Mr.Ah Khoo. His car shop is around this area. He's sister Feena's car mechanic. Well, to look at the positive side, at least his shops floor will no longer be oily and people won't easily slip, right? F.Y.I, I've never slipped nor anyone I know but it's possible for other customers.

Flat at Tasek Lama

My Amits used to live at this flat. Pheeww, lucky for them, they moved out last year and currently living in their own home at Delima, near the Granparents and some aunts, uncles and cousins.

Landslide along Jalan Tutong from Tasek Meradun

From the 7 O'clock in the morning news, it was informed that a man died due to a landslide. He was sleeping in his bedroom when the landslide occurred and demolished his bedroom wall. AL-FATIHAH.

Thank God I don't live at the places where the floodings and landslides occured. I'm glad my area only suffered a blackout. I heard this one on the news after they announced the death above. There's this family who were on their way going home but then, the flooding stopped them. One of their daughter INSISTED to walk home which was about 60 feet away. Then, the strong current pulled her. Luckily, the father held her hand, the villagers came along to help but the luck wasn't enough as the current was too strong and she died at that very spot. Oh Gosh, and she's only 19. AL-FATIHAH.
