Second day

Yesterday was triple the fun than the other day... Let me start from the beginning. At first, things were dull. We were in Delima hall, listening to "Biro Kawalan Narkotik" and "Penjara" ceramah. The Singapore students were also present. Then, after break, we went to Anggerek hall where "Brunei's Traditional Games exhibit" was held. There were displays of pictures, types of ketupat and kikiks. There was kikik-makings, games like simban, guli, pasang, congkak, ting-ting and two other games that I can't remember the names. Nisa, Lukman and I taught a Singaporean girl, Stefanie, how to play congkak. She's a quick learner. We then played "Carah Ice & Water" Haha, it was fun! But it is kinda hard to tell who's it and who's not. I mean, we were all over the hall. **Sigh** It kinda reminds me the old times. The time when Internet, play stations, hand phones, etc were not widely used. We easily made friends by just playing these games. It's kinda depressing when kids don't wanna play these games no more. They prefer playing hand phone games. We need to keep up with these traditional games, people!!!

My pen pal

Ugh... I have sooo many things to do. This month is such a busy month! I have the prefect duties, I have to attend tuition 4 days a week, then there's the upcoming sports events, not to mention I have to help to do the classrooms decoration and oh! Lets not forget the constant home works! Man... I'm okay with it though! I just love the adrenaline. I mean, it's better doing nothing at all! But sometimes, being busy is sooo annoying. It makes me sooo tired and I have lesser free time. Anyways, today, teacher Kimmie gave us pen pal letters. My pen pal is a guy who kinda has a lot in common with me. He loves to read books. He has one brother and two sisters, like me and he idolises Martin Luther King! But, his name? "What a coincidence!" That's what 5 of my peeps who read and saw his name said. I won't tell the name though. Lets say, his name is almost similar to the name of my classmate who broke my heart. Hah! Anyways, lets forget about him. He's my bitter-sweet past and I hold no grudge to him.Why? Cause I look at our break-up in a positive way even though it hurts. Everybody should do it that way! "Think positive!" That's my friend, Nyra, famous quote. **Yawning** Ehe... Hmm... I think I'm gonna search for some fascinating facts now... So, bye!!!

Todays duty...

I am really tired but so what? I had fun. Today, some students from Broadrick school in Singapore came to visit Brunei and SMB was the host. Since my mom is an employee at the airport, she helped the head teacher to be allowed to go in the airports restricted area to await the guests. There were about 30+ Singapore students, along with three fluent in Malay teachers, 1 male and 2 females. The students were Chinese, Malays, Indians and mixed. We greeted them with handshakes, big smiles and "welcome to Brunei" sayings. Three boys held our own made banner. When we arrived to school, some students played the hadrah, haha, it feels like there was a wedding going on. Other prefects and teachers lined up along the library. BTW, only 10 prefects (5 boys, 5 girls) could tag along to the airport. We then had a ceramah in the conference room before lunch. Afterwards, we were divided into 4 groups. I was in group 1 along with Cg. Isah, Simaa, Nisa, Yanee, Nash and the others. Yanee went home early. The prefects job was to be the school tour guides. We went there, here, up, down, left, right and take pics. I love it cause I had the opportunity to go into some rooms that I've never been into, like the M.I.B room and woodwork, etc. I also made new friends with some Singaporean students and also Berakas students.

Our own made banner. Yanee, Zulazmi and I made it last Thursday, 22-05-08. It was actually the "school class cleaning day". Other people like, the art teachers, Cg. Hj Nudin and Cg. Hj Tarip + some art students, Hadi and I dunno who his name is also helped a little. It took us from 8.00am until 12pm to finish it. My school uniform and Yanees tudong got a lil bit of diswashable paint! =(

At the tour bus which is filled by the Broadrick students and a few prefects. There were mostly girls. Their teacher said that they are from form 2 til form 4 students. Our teacher said that they are the schools top students. My mom said that they had to pay $900 as a fee. Whoa!

School Roadshow

Today, there's a roadshow at school. The M.P's(Majlis pelajar) have already seen the drama and ceramah. We've seen it last April when we visited the "Jabatan Penerangan". Well, at least the joke part was not the same. Haha, they were really funny to the max! =D Huhu, we had to stand for hours earlier today to greet the honoured guest. It was fun though! Later that day, we ate and had a meeting.

Mid Year Exam

Boo-hoo, I didn't do that well in my M.Y.E...But, I didn't do that bad either. The blames are all on me. Why? Well, I have the habit of "studying the last minute". I only studied like an hour before the exam. Don't tell my parents! They'll explode if they know I didn't revise at home.I got:

Fascinating animals

The first animal is this eagle. At a first look, I thought it was an owl. It's name is unknown and it is founded at Panama. Heck, where is Panama? Is that a village or a state? My dad told me it's an island around America. At which part of America? South? North? Hmmm, I guess I'm gonna have to ask my Geo teacher tomorrow.

The next animals are uncia uncia (pronounce as ounce) a.k.a snow leopard. They are well known for its beautiful fur which are either whitish-tan with dark ringed spots or ashy-brown with rosettes of black. Its tail and paws are heavy with fur. This is for protection against cold weather. To my surprise, they can't roar due to the absent of larynx and that they possess an incomplete ossification of the hyoid bone (whatever that is). I'll ask my science teacher about that. Anyways, the two snow leopard cubs are 55-days-old and they are currently living at the Conservation Breeding Centre in the Himalayan Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park in Darjeeling. Wheww! That's a long name! Speaking about names, those adorable cubs names are Athiti and Pakriti. The adult uncia uncia name? I don't know.

This is another type of a strange animal. Its a baby slender loris and WHOA! It is sooo small!Looks like an XXXS size monkey. To my amazement, they're not monkeys!They are actually bats! The smallest bats in the whole wide world, to be precise. The one in the picture is founded at Beijing. Haha, just imagine...If it was our pet and we lost it...How in the world are we gonna find it?

The last animal is a Pangolin. The name "pangolin" is actually from the Malay word, "Pengguling". From that name, we can know that it loves to roll(Keep rolling!Rolling!Rolling!). Anyways, they are scaly anteaters which can be found in the tropical region of Africa and Asia. These animals are really lazy. Why? Because it spends most of its time curled up like a ball and sleeping!

These animals are some of the critically endangered animals around the world. Because they are rare, scientists thought up an idea to avoid their extinction. What was their idea? CLONING. BTW,they said that cloning dead people are impossible. Don't know why...
